5 Tips to Help Your Dishwasher Work Better! (& a Giveaway!)

I was able to listen in on a webinar for Finish Revolution Bloggers that covered tips, tricks and advice about dishwasher usage and care to make sure you get the most out of your dishwasher and the cleanest dishes possible using Finish dishwashing products.

Today I'm going to share my favourite tips from the webinar with you:

5 Tips to Help Your Dishwasher Work Better

1. Use a detergent with both types of cleaning agents
(enzymes & bleach- they each do a different job!)

2. Watch out for Moist/Clumpy Detergent Stored Under Sink
(detergents are designed to activate when wet, so if you've had a box of hardened, clumpy powder detergent.. that's because it's been activated & it's not going to work as well anymore!)

3. Use a Rinse Agent (Jet Dry)
It allows water to slide off of dishes faster, so they don't dry leaving marks on dishes.

4. Don't Nest!
(when spoons stack up beside each other or bowls/pots are layered or stacked on top of each other, it can prevent them from all getting clean as they get in the way of each other!)

5. Hot Water
(Dishwashers typically need 120 degree water.)

I hope something here will help you!

And now, I have an opportunity to give away TWO boxes of Finish Quantum to one of my readers!

  1. I've read that running an empty load with venegar helps to clean out old food particles and keeps your dishwasher smelling fresh.

  5. Do make sure surfaces of dishes will get sprayed or you will still have food on the dish.
Rinse tomato-y food so your plastics don't aborb the orange in the dishwashing process.
Run disposal with cold running water, then turn the faucet to hot & let it run a few seconds.

  6. My tip is to save on the drying cycle, and just open the door as soon as its finished washing. The air combined with the steam will dry them in no time!

  7. I use vinegar in the high heat (Sanitation) setting once a month to clean things out.

  19. I put heavier bowls on small plastic dishes on the top rack so they don't flip over while washing and collect water
