So, after 16,000 fabulous nominations this year, 8 finalists have been chosen:
The eight finalists will each receive $10,000 for personal use and $10,000 to the charity of their choice.
I love Karen Whitford's story. She's a mom just like any of us, who has put her heart and her efforts into supporting her own children and helping them through their unique challenges. She has focussed on, and supported causes that her loved ones have been affected by. I like her story, because I can see how any of us can do great things just be focusing on our own families, by finding out what our children need, and doing our best to support them.
How cute is this photo of her with her kids? :)
