Cake Smash with Two Babies

Cake Smash with Two Babies

Last week, my sister came to visit from the U.S. It was so good to spend time with her and her three girls! Her youngest daughter turns one year old this month (and so does my other sister's daughter), so we decided to take advantage of everyone being together and do a little cake smash photoshoot. I'm so glad we made this happen- it was so fun and I love the photos that we got from it!

We started out with a few individual shots of the girls.  This is Tori with her little stuffed bunny:

Poor little Alexis was sick and kind of miserable when we started, but you would never know it from this photo! I'm so happy we managed to capture it!

Here's another of cute little Tori before we put the fluffy rug down:

It was so much fun to take these photos with my sisters.  They had prepared the day before by creating the little bunting on the wall and getting the cute outfits for the girls. I knew they would have something cute prepared- all I had to do was show up with my camera and enjoy it!

During the moment shown below, I was sitting on the floor with my camera while my sisters were behind me talking enthusiastically to the girls and trying to make them smile. How I wish I could've seen what was going on behind me- it was hilarious just to hear them and to see the girls' faces! :)

The girls' cute outfits and head bands came from a store called The Quilted Bear in Utah.

After we grabbed a few photos on the carpet, we rolled it back for the cake smash.  My sisters made these cute cakes the night before.  I'm pretty sure I need to give that rose icing a try sometime soon- I love the effect of it!

Watching the girls' different approaches to the cakes was fun.  Little Alexis (in pink) dug right in while Tori (in blue) spent more of her time just checking the cake out or watching her cousin eat. :)

Alexis was pretty serious about her cake eating experience- but dedicated nonetheless! :)

It was when Alexis started touching Tori with her cake-y hands that things started to come to an end.

Tori did NOT like it!

I don't think Alexis could figure out what the problem was- but it didn't stop her from sampling some more cake! ;)

The photoshoot ended and it was time for a cousin bath and then playtime.  I'm so happy we made the time to make this happen- it was so fun for my sisters and I, and I love that these girls will have photos to show them the whole experience in the future when they're older! :)

  10. Haha, I love how one of them ended up crying! My sister and I have kids that are 5 days apart, and we have a lot of cute pictures of them annoying each other! It was cute when they were toddlers and babies. Now, not so much! Lol
