Gingerbread Cookie Recipe Printable with Tags & Gingerbread House Box

I have another beautiful printable for you today as part of the #LightTheWorld Service Initiative (encouraging people to find 25 ways to serve in 25 days).  This free downloadable kit was created by Maria from www.designedbymaria.com. The kit comes with everything you need for a fun Gingerbread-themed family activity at Christmas time!

You can use the Activity Outline (included in the kit) for a family-friendly discussion and service activity. It doesn't take a lot of time, just pick one evening in the month of December to spend time together serving.

This Kit Includes:

- Activity Outline
- Printable Recipe
- Holiday Tags
- Gingerbread House Box
- Gingerbread Man Garland (blank)
- Gingerbread Man Garland (decorated)

The outline encourages you to discuss how Jesus served his loved ones. Each family member can share ideas of how they can serve. As they share, they can choose a gingerbread person to represent them or create their own. You can make a cute gingerbread garland by attaching the gingerbread people's hands together.

Next, make a treat together, using the Gingerbread Cookie Recipe (included in the free kit). These are so fun to make and decorate, for both kids and adults. It's a soft gingerbread recipe- I'm really hoping we get a chance to make these because I'm dying to try them!

You could decorate one for each member of your family (so you have a treat when you're finished) and then make the rest for friends or family or neighbours, for delivering!

Now, it's time to serve! Choose someone who would enjoy a little treat. Using the printable kit, you can create this adorable gingerbread house cookie box. Put your gingerbread people inside. Because, gingerbread people live inside gingerbread houses, of course! Then, deliver your goodies, as a family, and brighten someone's day.

There are also some cute printable tags (that could be used for this project or any gift at Christmas time!) that you can use to decorate the cookies if you package them individually or to leave a little note.

For every person you serve, you can add another gingerbread person to your garland. Watch your garland grow as you do your part to "Light the World" through service!

You can download this free printable kit here.

Here's a little video from Maria (the creator of the kit), telling you about her vision for it:

  3. The garland is so neat. We made a garland of real ones, but they got nibbled.

    1. It can take a while to make from scratch & decorate but it tends to taste way better than the store-bought kits! :)
