Thomas & Friends Party (Sponsored by Mega Bloks)

The girls & I were pretty excited when we heard that we had been selected as hosts of MommyParties sponsored by Mega Bloks Thomas & Friends.
It was so much fun!

We got a big box in the mail with Thomas toys from Mega Bloks for us to try out and then invite our friends over for a party with toys for them to take home, too!

Above is a picture of all 10 kids playing with their toys! They had just finished watching a Thomas movie while all of the moms sat around the table chatting. After playing with their new toys, we had a cupcake & drink break, followed by more playing, games, a draw for one lucky guest to receive another fun toy!

Here's a shot one of the moms grabbed during the cupcake chaos! :) I think I'm handing out napkins..

I'd say it was a definite success- several of the guests didn't want to leave afterward ;) Thanks to MomSelect, MommyParties, Mega Bloks, & BSM Media for making this fun event possible!

Rolling Stamp Wrapping Paper (revisited)

I posted a tutorial over at HowDoesShe for the Rolling Stamp Wrapping paper that we made last year. Go on over & check it out! :)

Avid Thumb Sucker

Katrina has been an avid right-thumb sucker for most of her life.
We recently tried that nasty nail polish on her sucking thumb.
She switched to her left thumb.

After a few days, we decided to put the nail polish on both thumbs.
She has now resorted to her baby finger.

It's hard to do this to her- it seems so harsh!
But perhaps her teeth will thank us one day ;)

Have you had success helping a child to stop sucking their thumb (or fingers)?
We were lucky with Talia- she stopped really quickly.

Sharing Time (December 2011)

Sharing Time is visual again, thanks to InLinkz! I hope you enjoy it! :)
I can't wait to be able to "SEE" your entries again- just in time for Christmas!

New features: You'll be able to choose a photo from your post to put with your link. You can describe your link & should have enough room to put your blog name as well now. You will need to put a direct link to the post you are linking to (not just link to your main blog page) and you will need to include a link back to this blog from your blog- you can do a text link, or just use the sharing time button provided). Please leave me a comment if you have any problems, I'm excited to try this out! :)

Canvas Giveaway

Ever heard of Faville Photo? These printing specialists cater to photographers, businesses, artists, and the general public for various printing needs from giclee printing to canvas prints. They offer a range of media and sizes that you won't find many other places.

Great News!

Faville Photo is giving one of my readers a free 8x10 custom canvas print so you can see their quality for yourself! It will arrive stretched & ready to hang on your wall. You can choose any of your own family or vacation photos and have it printed on the canvas.

But that's not all!

Faville doesn't want the rest of the giveaway entrants to go away empty handed, so they're going to give everyone who enters a discount! (What's the discount you ask? Well, that depends on you! Faville is getting creative and offering you at least 10% off, but that percentage will increase by 5% for every 100 entries in the giveaway (max of 400 entries for 30% discount). The discount offer is good on any of their products and services.

If you can't see the entry form below, just click on "Read More" and it will appear.

Angel Hair for Kids (Take 2)

If you've ever had a look at the buttons on the side of our blog, you may have noticed our Angel Hair for Kids button...

And if you haven't been reading my blog for 2 years, you might be interested in a trip down our memory lane, to see what happened 2 years ago this March when Talia cut her own hair and I wrote about how we ended up donating what was left of it to Angel Hair for Kids.

Funny things, these blessings in disguise... just 20 months later and we were back at the same hair salon, with the same hair dresser, donating 10 inches of Talia's hair for a little girl somewhere who needs it. Talia was happy to do it, ready for less tangles and a change. She spoke excitedly about how her hair would be made into a wig for a sick little girl who lost her own. I am proud of Talia for doing this, and touched because of the meaning this has for me, having watched my little sister go through Cancer, chemotherapy, and consequently, hairloss.

Here's Talia throughout the process this time around.

...and a before/after view

...what a change!

Last year, my mom was with us when we went to get Talia's hair cut, so we got a shot of me with her- crazy to think how long ago that was- will someone please slow time down?!
