Family Fun Cleaning the Car! (Giveaway)

After a long winter, our car is usually in its worst shape ever.  It's way too cold outside to be spending any extra time cleaning, so we put it off as long as we can and when the nice weather finally hits, the car needs some love!  It feels SO much better to get into a clean car than a messy one!

This Spring, we took the Armor All Spring Kick Off Challenge!  We were able to try a Spring Cleaning Starter Kit with all kinds of car cleaning supplies to spiff up our car and boy did our car need it!

I loved the idea of this little vacuum that plugs into your cigarette lighter. It was fun to use! (I was a nice mom and let Talia give it a try too ;) I can remember helping my dad to vacuum out our van when I was younger and I thought it was fun!  I love getting the kids involved with things like this because they actually have fun while they work- it's a great lesson and a fun family activity in one!

(They loved the vacuum, the wipes, and the window spray... they didn't love gathering all of the garbage they had thrown on the floor from their snacks!! ;)

One of the most satisfying things about the Spring Cleaning of a vehicle is how noticable the "before and after" can be! I took a picture of the back of the seat that Katrina's feet (and consequently her dirty shoes and boots) tend to kick. DIRTY! After some easy cleaning with Armor All wipes, the "after" is impressive!  I also appreciate that the wipes kill bacteria, so I know the car is germ-free for my kids.

I didn't take a before & after shot of the upholstered seat in the car but I wish I had! I used the Carpet & Upholstery cleaner on our seats and I was so impressed!! It feels like we're getting into a brand new car now! (I didn't even think it was possible for them to get as new looking as they do now!) It's a fun product to use too, because it comes out like a foam and then it has a fun little scrubby nozzle (they call it a bristled cap.. maybe I should use the correct terminology ;) on the end that you scrub it with.

We definitely have that "new car" smell in there now, too. (My kids don't like it. I'm okay with that, because I'm excited to try some of their car air fresheners! They sent us one that clips onto your air vent and has scented oil in it (Wild Berry scent) and I'm excited to get that smell going! (Pretty sure I won't have any complaints about that smell ;)

Is all this clean car talk making you want to get your hands on some of your own Armor All products??  Well, you're in luck because we're giving away this gift pack filled with Armor All car care necessities!

Just fill out the form below for your chance to win the above kit!

His Holy House by Robert A. Boyd

I was recently able to take a look at a beautiful coffee table book called His Holy House by Robert A. Boyd, published by Deseret Book. It is a 10.5 x 12" hard cover book of photography and quotes about the Temple.

It comes with a dust jacket that looks like this:

Underneath that is a beautiful photo cover with a photo on the front (the same photo from the dust jacket, but it covers the whole front of the book, without text) and the back of the book (shown below). I've taken a few photos of the book to try to give you an idea of what it's like. You can see a few more spreads from it here. At the back of the book is an index where you can look up a specific temple and find the pages that have photos of it.

The pages are high quality, full colour, and contain beautiful photography by Robert A. Boyd who has travelled all over the United States and Canada, photographing temples. Like many members of our church, the temple has special meaning to Robert and his wife, because it is a symbol of eternal families. They lost a son and have several adopted children who, because of temple ordinances, they can be together with for eternity.

Photographs range from landscapes to detail shots that show the beautiful, detailed workmanship of the temples. I love to see the gorgeous stained glass windows up close, the carvings on the temples and the landscaping including beautiful flowers, trees, and fountains that are on the grounds of the temples.

Some pages of the book also include quotes about the temple, like this:

This would be a lovely book to have sitting out in your home, or a beautiful wedding gift!

Disclosure: I was provided a copy of the book for review purposes. All opinions shared are my own.

Family Portraits (Our Cousins)

I went out this morning to get a few photos of my brother & sister-in-law and my cute nephews. These are our only local (to our city) cousins and we love them so much! Betsy and I are close friends and it is SO NICE to have them so near us!

Here are a few of the shots that I've edited so far, from our session this morning:

I can't handle these adorable boys.  They are so sweet :)

Thanks for a fun morning at the park, you guys!  Hope you like your photos :)
