My Weird Ellen Dream

My Weird Ellen Dream

A few days ago I was getting ready for the day and as I was doing so, the details of a dream I had the night before slowly started coming back to me. I found myself chuckling as I remembered more and more of it and thought I needed to document it. So today I bring you my weird Ellen dream:

Strange Dream with Ellen Degeneres Oprah Winfrey and Sheri Dew

In my dream, I worked at The Ellen Shop (which was located in a strip mall). Ellen was always at the store, sitting at a special desk. When I arrived at work, I was told by a supervisor that all employees would get 40% off of all jeans that day because the Oprah show would be surprising Ellen by coming to the shop at 4:30 that afternoon. I started shopping and trying on jeans and hoodies until I realized that Ellen could see me and I thought I better stop shopping since I was supposed to be working.

Soon after that, it occurred to me that I didn't know how long I was supposed to work that day or when I worked next, so I figured out where the schedule was to check it out. When I realized I wasn't working until 4:30 that day, I asked permission to come back so that I could be there when the Oprah show came and surprised Ellen. I was told that maybe I could if I could get into the store without being suspicious (because Ellen didn't know about the Oprah show coming & they didn't want to tip her off).

While I was working, some man who worked at the store started talking loudly about the Oprah show and we were pretty sure he ruined it because Ellen could hear him. Ellen had to leave around 3pm because she was too nervous to sit around the store. She went outside and wore a weird, long blonde wig and strange clothes and walked around teasing and making fun of a crowd that was outside (all in good fun like one of her Ellen Show pranks- she wasn't being mean).

When it was time for the Oprah show, there was a huge audience in the store (which was suddenly much larger) and the employees had to sit way at the back, on the floor, where we couldn’t see the stage. I never saw Oprah but Ellen made her entrance with Sheri Dew who had really big hair, obviously defying gravity- going up and out from her head in an extremely voluminous way. Someone commented that Sheri Dew always does Ellen’s hair when they’re together... and then Ellen came in with her hair in a similar way, but only going to one side- it looked ridiculous & I was trying to figure out when Ellen’s hair got long enough to do that and WHY she would let Sheri do her hair like that!

Later I tried to move over to see better and I noticed there were empty seats at the front & I saw that Ken’s aunt Michele was sitting in one of them and I was trying to figure out if I could go up and sit with her when I saw Ken’s mom come in late, so I went with her and we sat with Ken’s aunt.

Unfortunately, I still didn’t get to see any of the show & I don’t remember anything after that!

  3. Haha. That's quite the story. I actually just wrote a sonnet on my blog about recurring dreams; mine aren't nearly as funny as yours. Did you catch the Ellen interview on My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman? Just when I thought I couldn't adore her any more than I already do... she's so vulnerable and relatable and naturally funny.

  4. Love when dreams are completely random and make very little sense.
