Decorating with Personal Photos (& Canvas Prints Giveaway!)

I have always loved using family photos in our decor so I suppose it shouldn't come as a surprise that this ended up being the solution to an empty wall in our new bedroom. I'm so happy with the way that it turned out- I can't wait to show you!

I also have a discount code and a giveaway for you, to be able to order your own personalized Canvas prints, so be sure to stay tuned to the end of this post if you'd like to enter!

We have a small wall between two doors in our bedroom (one leads to a bathroom and the other leads to a closet). When we moved in, we discovered that one of our bedroom furniture pieces wouldn't fit up the stairs in our new place, so we had to use it in our living room instead which meant that this white cabinet that we bought in Utah for our living room there, went up to our bedroom instead.

For 8 months, the wall above the cabinet remained empty. I had the framed "Now & Forever" print sitting on top of the cabinet, still wrapped in bubble wrap from when we packed it up in Ontario before moving to Utah (we didn't find a spot to hang it in our home in Utah). I thought it was a good size to fit on that wall, but it was too small on its own so I was on a quest to find a solution to decorate the wall space above a cabinet with a short sign and something underneath of it!

I was excited when I got the idea to order a canvas print of Ken & I from our photo session with Ariana 2 years ago. If you followed along with the details of the "Smoke Saga" in March of 2018, you may remember me sharing how sad it was to watch an older canvas print of the two of us get crushed by a garbage truck. I loved the idea of replacing that lost one with an updated one!

The little "Love You More" sign was given to me on my last birthday by Talia. It reminds me of her and also carries a sweet message about Ken & I. It was previously displayed downstairs in another place, so I'm still deciding whether to keep it there, but I love the look of it with the cabinet in this spot!

I'm so happy with the way this canvas has completed the look of this wall of our bedroom. I'm a big fan of getting beloved photos printed and displayed as much as possible and I really like this one of us.

You can get your own Canvas prints through BestCanvas.ca or choose from a library of artwork they have available. They also have a ton of different sizes available which was so convenient for this project, to find one just the right size!
