Raising Memories: Making & Documenting Family Memories
Heather Lynne

From raising kids to empty-nest living, join me in exploring ideas for memory-making and intentional living to create a life you love, through every season of motherhood.

Sincerely,

Solar System

Talia has had an interest in the Solar System for a while now, so my scientist husband bought some foam balls and paint at the dollar store in preparation to make a model with her.

A couple of weeks ago, we all went to the library to pick up a couple of books about the planets. Then we came home & Ken coached the girls through painting the balls to look like the planets. They did a great job!

We figured out that it was easiest to paint the balls if we stuck them with a skewer (then their hands wouldn't get too covered in paint). Then we stuck the skewers in an egg carton to dry.

...and our solar system is awesome... but it remains in the egg carton ;) ...on my kitchen counter.

I'm still trying to figure out what to do with it. We thought of putting it in a box, painted black (with holes poked in it for stars- think fun with a flashlight ;), but that would take up a lot of space (like the egg carton is) and we want to keep it for a while. So, I thought of hanging them in the playroom, from fishing line... but I'm stuck at how to attach the fishing line to them.

Ideas?...

Hope you're all having a wonderful Easter today.

Sharing Values

Pssst.... do you like this "Sharing Values" idea?
Do you think I should continue posting this Link Up?

There are not many links added, and I'm trying to decide whether it just needs some time & a chance, or whether there just aren't enough people interested.

Please let me know what you think.

What is "Sharing Values"?
Something that I’m finding is more & more important to me is to find good ways to teach my children about values. From dressing modestly and using clean language to sexual purity and repentance, there are many values that I want to teach my children about and I know that many of you have the same desires and are finding creative and clever ways to explain, teach, and exemplify these things to your children (whether they be very young or already teenagers).

As blogger moms, we share many things with each other. We share our ideas, our experiences, our thoughts and our feelings. I’d like for us to share more of what we are doing to teach our children about these values that are important to us. Will you join with me in doing this? I’d like to start a “linky” that allows us to link up our blog posts that share our thoughts, experiences, and ideas about teaching our children about our values.

With Easter coming, this is a great time to do this as I know many of us are working to keep the true meaning alive!

So, you in?
Here's what you do:

1. Write a blog post that somehow shares
what you've done lately to teach values to your children
and include a link to our blog or grab the button below.
2. Link your blog post up on the "Linky" below
3. Visit the others who are sharing values
& show those moms some support and encouragement
by leaving a little blog love- let’s remind each other
that we’re not alone in our quest to raise good children
and to show them how important our values are! :)

Sugar Bellies Boutique

Christina from Sugar Bellies Boutique sent us this adorable earflap hat with flowers to review. It really is adorable- Katrina has been wearing it whenever we go outside and she looks so cute in it. We've had people asking us where we got it (someone actually asked me if I made it- I wish! ;)

I'm truly impressed by what Christina can make- her hats are so cute! Let me show you a couple of my favourites:

Aren't they ridiculously cute?!

They're great for photographers looking for cute newborn hats and of course for parents who just want adorable hats for their kids! :)

Here's the best part: Christina is going to send one of you your very own earflap hat with flowers (just like the one Katrina is wearing in the photos above).

To enter, click over to Sugar Bellies Boutique, take a look around at her adorable products, then come back here & tell me what your favourite is!
