Mini Puffed Oven Pancakes & Savoring the Seasons with Our Best Bites

A few weeks ago, I tried making Mini Puffed Oven Pancakes.
The recipe came from Sara & Kate who blog over at Our Best Bites

Here they are:

Have you heard of these ladies? They've got some amazing recipes, and they've put out two Recipe Books! I love their books because they're cute (admit it, this does matter!), the recipes don't require a huge list of ingredients you've never heard of, every single recipe includes a (beautiful) photo, and something I love about their new book, Savoring the Seasons with Our Best Bites (published by Shadow Mountain), is that they've even thrown in some fun, creative activities that you can do with your kids for each season!

Here's a picture of the page with the recipe I tried:
(yes, we had ours with the berry sauce & whipped cream.
If you read the rest of the post, you'll understand why
I didn't work very hard to photograph that ;)

You'll also find helpful tips for some of the recipes. For example, a very helpful tip for the above recipe was not to forget that the pan is hot when you remove it from the oven. (for this recipe you heat the pan without anything in it, to prepare it for when you add the batter) I thought that was kind of obvious (not to take the pan out of the oven without oven mitts)... and I guess it was. What apparently wasn't obvious though, was not to grab the pan with your bare hands AFTER you got it out of the oven!

Yep. I did that. I was about to spray the pan, when I thought it would be best to do that over the sink, to avoid getting the counter greasy. Grabbed the pan with my bare hand without a second thought!! Ugh. HEED THE HELPFUL TIPS!!! ;)

Well, these babies were DELICIOUS!!!! And now that my hand feels fine again, I think I'll be making them again soon! (Lucky for you this recipe is on their blog, so you can try it too! (link above) But not all of the recipes are there, and it's way more convenient and fun to have the actual book, so.... lucky for you we've got a giveaway!

One of you will win your own copy!

  1. I'm going to have to try this once my kitchen is finished being painted. I've made one large puffed up pancake but these look better.
