When I was a teenager, the internet was kind of a new thing. I was 14 when I met Ken (my husband). We lived in different cities so we kept in touch be sending letters in the mail. His family was ahead of my family when it came to technology, so when my parents went out and bought our first computer and got the internet, I was thrilled to be able to email Ken (and my other friends).

We used to send each other e-cards on special occasions or just to send a little note on a regular day.  I clearly remember that we used a website called BlueMountain.  Recently, BlueMountain contacted me about sharing something on the blog and it brought back so many memories!  I went into my email that I used when I was a teenager and there were still several BlueMountain emails that I had saved from 1999 (when we were 17), the same year that this photo was taken:

So now that you've taken a little trip down memory lane with me, let's get back to the present.  Ken and I are an old married couple now ;) and just celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary.  We've got two kids (a 6 year old and an 8 year old) and I've just rediscovered BlueMountain! :)

They've created some cute free printable letters to Santa!  

They've also got a ton of  cute or funny or religious holiday cards and cards for every other occasion you can think of :)  Memberships allow you unlimited access to their e-cards for 1 month, 1 year, or 2 years.  They also have a reminder service where they'll email you to remind you about people's birthdays or other occasions (love this!  It goes right along with what I did last year with "snail mail" cards!)

Christmas Sugar Plum Classmate Gifts

When Talia was in Kindergarten, I made these little "Sugar Plum" Christmas handouts for her classmates.
I saw them here and thought they were adorable!

Here's What You'll Need to Make Them:

- candy melts
- lollipop sticks
- large marshmallows
- small clear bags
- sprinkles
- ribbon
- hole punch

And since there's already a great tutorial over at that link above, I'll send you there to see how to make them!
(That's also where you'll find a printable for the tags I made!)

This is another idea I didn't realize I hadn't blogged about and I thought you might think it was as cute as I did, so here it is!

Gift Idea: Documenting & Displaying Memories

Hot Chocolate on a Stick

I was looking through some photos from Christmastime in years past and I found a cute Neighbour/Friend gift that I made back in 2011 that I had never shared on the blog! As soon as I saw this idea of "Hot Chocolate on a Stick" with homemade marshmallow squares on top, I knew I wanted to try it!

I didn't take photos of the process of making the chocolate, but you can find instructions for making the chocolate here. I did take photos while making the marshmallows and you can find that post and tutorial for homemade marshmallows here.

After making those two recipes, you just stack a marshmallow on top of a cube of chocolate and stick a sucker stick through it, then dip it into a little plastic bag (you can find the sticks and bags at Michaels or Bulk Barn). Then I tied them up with a ribbon and attached a little printed note that I made and printed from my computer. The font on the front of the tag (with the little snowflakes) is called Frosty and is free to download.

I thought this was such a cute idea!  Thought you might agree and wanted to share :)

Jo Totes Siena Bag Review & Giveaway
