52 Life-Changing Questions

Questions have a way of motivating us to think deeply and see things differently.  They can lead us toward life changing growth.  Questions are important.

We often approach the scriptures with questions, searching for answers, but a new book by John Hilton III and Brad Wilcox (published by Deseret Book) focuses on 52 Life-Changing Questions from the Book of Mormon.

They've chosen 52 questions to focus on- which is kind of perfect if you want to focus on one question per week of the year.  (Perfect New Year goal!)  I think it would be a good thing to do as a couple- to read a chapter together each week and discuss it and think about it during the week. Of course you could do this individually as well.

One of my favourite questions:

"Know ye not that ye are in the hands of God?" (Mormon 5:23)

From the book:
"The paths we take in our lives are also in the hands of God, and He can guide our steps.  Elder Richard G. Scott said, "The Lord has a purpose for you, individually....Discover it and fulfill it.  It will likely not be revealed all at once but will be unfolded line upon line.  As you pray and work hard, you will find threads of understanding that will lead you to the path the Lord wants you to follow for the greatest enduring, meaningful attainment, contribution, joy, and peace of mind. Faithfully and courageously follow those threads of understanding and direction."

The authors say that the book is meant to be a study tool to help us to think about and read the Book of Mormon differently, with the ultimate goal of helpings us become better. I look forward to delving into this book more, and taking the time to delve into the questions within it.
