When Talia was 4 years old, she got her hands on some scissors and cut her hair. She only cut the front of her hair, and had enough left at the back to donate her hair. Nearly two years later, her hair had grown enough to donate again. It's been about 5 and a half years since then, and both of our girls' hair has grown quite long again, so they decided to donate together this time!
Here are some more photos of before & after:

Talia was able to donate 10" to Angel Hair for Kids and Katrina donated 8" to Pantene Beautiful Lengths.

It's quite a big change for these girls! I'm proud of them for choosing to give their hair to help others. I'm also excited for less tangles and upkeep, but a little sad that we won't be able to do long braids for a while. ;) It's crazy to think this is Talia's 3rd time doing this, and I'm glad Katrina could join her. :)
This is such a sweet tradition! And so fun that Katrina got to join in this time.
ReplyDeleteI love their haircuts! They both have beautiful hair and it's wonderful that they both wanted to donated it to help others.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter will donate my granddaughter hair in the next few weeks.

That's very kind of the two girls. And mom's support is awesome.
ReplyDeleteI think it takes kind caring kids to want to do this, so it seems that you're raising them right
ReplyDeleteHot sweet! It takes a lot of courage to chop off that much hair!
ReplyDeleteMy granddaughter donated her hair a couple of years ago too, she was only 6 years old but boy was her hair long. One of my sons is trying to get his hair long enough to donate it, however he's been growing it for about 2 years now and it's still not long enough.
ReplyDeleteThey had such long hair. I wonder if anyone close to me is doing this.
