- capturing moments
(this is probably the main reason for my love of photography)
- savouring moments
(a big reason for this blog of mine- a reminder to make moments, but also to enjoy the ones that just happen without planning and to step into the ones that are available- I'm talking about the part with the mom on the laptop & the kids playing in the rain)
- focusing on what matters most!
I love the quote: "It is not so much the major events as the small day-to-day decisions that map the course of our living."

So we've been doing Leapfrog's Summer Camp activities since they started this month (even though kids aren't even out of school yet around here! :) and I told you I'd be back to tell you about our experience, so here's what we've been up to!
Last week's theme was "Out & About" (you can go back & do last week's activities if you missed it) and our favourite activity was "I Shrunk the Room!" where we recreated the girls' room from a cardboard box! They played with it A LOT! (and I had fun figuring out ways to recreate things with them, too ;)
This week's theme is "Caring for Animals". So far we've had fun with a worksheet that talks about the needs of puppies (my girls would LOVE to have a puppy, but I'm allergic, so instead they play with stuffed animals and ask for pet fish ;)
I also printed the Pet Pals colouring book because I knew both girls would love it- we are a very artsy family over here- lots of colouring and drawing every day! :)
One of this week's activities is making a birdhouse- I think that would be a really fun one to do! Have you been doing any of the Leapfrog Summer Camp activities? Have you blogged about it? I'd love to see- leave me a comment with a link if you'd like to share!
And if you haven't been doing Summer Camp, want to join us?
Leapfrog’s Summer Camp is geared toward kids aged 4-7 years (Katrina who is 3 is happily joining in). The activities are meant to get the whole family involved.
Just click here to check it out, and get ready to join the fun!

I recently hosted a Scentsy party for Julia Fraley (you may notice her ad in the sidebar ;) and after distributing the box full of pretty warmers and scents from party orders, I had a fun idea...
One day while Talia was at school, Katrina & I got out a roll of coloured paper (thank you Aunt Rushy- those rolls of coloured paper are the gift that keeps on giving!) and got to work transforming the box into a toy car :)
I cut off the top flaps of the box with an exacto knife and used that cardboard to make wheels (traced a circle onto the cardboard with an upside down bowl).
We wrapped the box in the coloured paper just like a present and taped it down with packing tape. Then applied the wheels & we were good to go!
It was pretty simple to make, we spent some fun time together building it, and then there was lots of fun to be had with it afterward! And then again when Talia got home from school! :)
Isn't it true that sometimes the box that a toy comes in is more fun than the toy? ;)
What's the "funnest" thing you've ever made with a cardboard box?
Last month we were fortunate enough to go and visit a friend's farm with our girls. They LOVED it!!
Well, it wasn't love at 1st smell ;)
But pretty soon there were other things to pay attention to:
One of their favourite things to do was to feed long grass to the cows:
Another highlight was when we got to meet a brand new (that morning) calf!
And watch (and feed) the new Mommies and babies! (it was so cool because there were several pairs and you could totally tell which ones belonged together because they looked alike, and they would be together).
Look at these two! (a little cow kiss!)
There was rain that day, so when it got to be a bit much, we came inside for a break, a snack, and one of Talia's favourite parts- holding this cat like a baby! And we finished the visit off by making one of Talia's dreams come true when she got to sit on a huge horse! Now she really wants to take horse riding lessons!
Thank you, thank you to Sandy who showed us around- the girls loved you! And to John for bringing that little baby over for us to meet! We loved our visit!
