Mini Piñatas (Snowball Piñatas for a Frozen Party)

Talia really wanted a Piñata at her birthday party. We've made our own piñatas a couple of times for parties in the past, but this time we weren't keen on adding all of the extra candy to the party, and honestly, we just didn't feel up to making one.  It seemed to be really important to her though, so we did some thinking and came up with a really fun mini version of piñatas!  It was perfect for our "Frozen" themed party!

Here's how to make  your own mini piñatas:

What You'll Need:

Switching from Paper to eReader (Kobo Glo HD Review & a Giveaway)

When I was 12 years old, my Oma & Opa gave me a beautiful hard-cover copy of Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery. I have loved reading ever since the first time I read it, and I still have that book in my collection. It's a large, heavy, hard-cover, 3-Volume copy that I have kept because of the sentimental connection it holds to my grandparents and because I know it's a book that I will read again, and read to my daughters.

I do a lot of things on the computer or other devices, but until recently, reading wasn't one of them. So, when I was offered the opportunity to try out the new Kobo Glo HD, I thought it was time to give it a try. For one week, I set aside my paper books and took to the eReader!

Minion Kinder Eggs & a Giveaway!

My kids have had their eye on previews for the new Minions movie, so you can imagine their excitement when we saw Minions KINDER® SURPRISE® Eggs in the store!  After getting them home and opening them, we decided to make minions out of the plastic eggs inside of the chocolate eggs. :)  All it took were some googley eyes, a glue stick, and some Sharpie markers. :)

Blueberry Cheesecake Smoothie Recipe

I have some bad habits when it comes to diet and exercise. I tend to eat a lot of junk food and not a lot of healthy food. As for exercise... well, the bad habit there is that I don't. So, at the start of this month I decided to really work on improving those things. I've been making an effort to go for walks, to try and ease myself into exercising more. I've also been trying to eat more fruits, vegetables, and healthy things (hopefully, to try and avoid eating as much junk!).

One of my favourite ways to get healthy foods in is to make smoothies. This month, I was looking for healthy ways to use cottage cheese into healthy snacks and I came across this idea to use it to make "Cheesecake Smoothies". I LOVE cheesecake, so I thought this would be a GREAT smoothie to try! I did some research into different cheesecake smoothie recipes and came up with my own version that I like.

So, today I wanted to share my favourite version of this recipe that I've come up with so far.

Healthy Summer Snack Ideas (& a Giveaway!)

Now that Winter has come to a close and warmer weather is becoming more common, it's time to start enjoying the outdoors more! When we spend more time outside, our snacking habits tend to change too. While I have nothing against freezies and cookies, I do think it's important to be aware of the ratio of healthy snacks to treats that have little nutritional value.

One thing that I like to try with my kids is to be prepared with a snack right when they get home from school (they always want a "home snack" as soon as they've put away their school things). So today I wanted to share a few healthy snack ideas that your kids aren't too likely to complain about. :)

How To Make the Best of Your Family Beach Trip!

We are SO excited about the warmer weather we've been having! It has us thinking about the summer and looking forward to warm weather activities- like trips to the beach! Getting to the beach with all the right things can be a big task, so today I wanted to share some suggestions on what to bring with you to the beach and some fun things to do once you're there!
