I suffer from a very annoying seasonal allergy. It never fails: Spring enters (my favourite season!), I'm feeling blissful about the warmer temperatures, the disappearance of snow, and the reappearance of all things green and colourful... then they hit. The runny nose, the sneezing, the itchy eyes... oh, the itchy eyes! I want to CLAW my eyes out!! I am NOT exaggerating. That's really how I feel!

I can't wear make-up because it might aggravate things and I CANNOT resist the urge to rub my eyes. I cannot avoid this reaction because we use window air conditioners and open windows to keep our home cool, so anything that's outside inevitably ends up INside. It's terrible.

Allergy relief is a necessity for me!  Over the years I have tried many over-the-counter solutions for myself (some that helped, some that did not).  Finally things escalated one year and I went to my doctor, got an allergy test, and we decided that a prescription was necessary to allow me to feel normal again!  It was like heaven when it started to work!

Allergies have caused me much misery so you can imagine my sadness when Talia started to show the exact same signs of allergy that I do. My poor girl!  We took her to the doctor who suggested we try some over-the-counter solutions before turning to a prescription for her.  So, that's what we're doing!

I do not want us to experience another Spring like this:

In misery, indoors.

Last year we tried an over-the-counter allergy medicine for Talia and it didn't work for her. I'm not backing down though, because I know from my own experience that some worked better for me than others. This year we are ready to try something new. If it doesn't work, we will keep on trying until we find her some relief!

So, we headed off to Target to explore their pharmacy area to see what they had to offer.

We found a lot of different allergy medications and even a few that catered specifically to children (right in with their cough and cold medicines). We found one that's homoeopathic (something we definitely haven't tried before), so we picked it up and we're giving it a whirl!

It's a liquid medication that's easy for her to take quickly in the morning.

And we're hoping for a lot more of this, this season!

Happy, Outside, Feeling Great!

Because that's what Spring is for, isn't it?! Hopefully we've got those allergies out of our way and we're ready to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather! (when the rain stops ;)

  1. We don't have allergies, but I have a friend here with seasonal allergies who swears by DoTerra essential oils. Her whole family (including 3 kids) suffer from allergies and they swear by the essential oils.
