I soon set up an email address that was based on a nickname I had through an inside joke with the boy. We emailed a lot and our friendship grew. I still use that email address and have a folder in my email that contains emails from him, from a decade ago!
At a dance, 16 years old.
When we were 19 years old, the boy went to Mexico for 2 years, to serve a mission. We were able to keep in touch by mail & email throughout those years, and I’m really glad we did! About 3 weeks after the boy got home from Mexico, he proposed!
Almost 8 years later, here we are, married with 2 cute little daughters! Email has played a big role in our relationship. We had a long distance relationship for much of the 7 years that we knew each other before we were married, so I’m really glad we had email to keep us connected! And really it’s not over, because we still email each other several times every day. :)
Now, I’m curious: How did you meet your hubby or significant other?
Wow, what a sweet story. I just met my husband the old boring way. We met at a church dance. There was no email back then. We had to call each other or write letters. We lived 3 hours away from each other.
ReplyDeleteI remember you reading Ken's letters (while he was on his mission) to us little beehives when we had a sleepover at your place hah!
ReplyDeletelol Vanessa, really?! I don't remember doing that!
ReplyDeleteDaniel and I met at a YSA dance. We emailed quite a lot too actually (even tho facebook has made it almost extinct now.) We played a game where we would email back and forth 10 things about ourselves until we couldn't think of anything else. It was fun :)
ReplyDeletePS I had no idea you had a blog! It's so cute! I'm now following it!
