You'll notice I've added a g+ icon to the top, right of the blog along with my RSS, Twitter, email, Pinterest, & Facebook icons. Man, there are a lot of ways to keep in touch!

There's also a cute little Google+ Widget in the sidebar, where you can just click on the "Add to circles" button, to get Raising Memories on your Google+. It looks like this:

(Please join me, I'm lonely over there! ;)

And while we're sharing Social Media connections, here are the rest:

Redesign

I've redesigned my blog!
This is the biggest change it has had in a LONG time!

I'd love for you to pop over & have a look- let me know what you think of it!

Is there anything missing that you wish I had included in the change?

Blog Title (a little housekeeping)

I changed the banner at the top of my blog.

It now says "Raising Memories" which is really the most appropriate name for this blog- it's what I think of it as being called, but when people link to posts here they seem to always call it something different- it didn't help that the title at the top of my blog didn't say Raising Memories. But I bought www.RaisingMemories.com for a reason, so I'm going to keep the title at the top of this blog as Raising Memories, because that's what this blog is mostly focussed on these days.

Raising Memories Facebook Page

Join the new Raising Memories Facebook Page!

More posts coming soon- I've been having computer problems!
I'm on my husband's laptop for tonight, but hopefully my computer will be up & running soon & I can catch up on some posts!

Sidenote: We have a couple of great giveaways coming up, so stay tuned! :)

Heritage Makers

I'm excited to tell you my news!

I've become a consultant for Heritage Makers!

It's really a cool company and when I started learning more about it, I got more and more excited about it. I have a love for creating and documenting memories. I've been doing that through the things I've shared on this blog, and I've been capturing as many memories as I can with my camera- for my own family and for others. But now I'm excited to add another piece to that!

I love the products from Heritage Makers!
Keep reading if you want to know what you can do with them!

Photo Storybooks
"Photos without stories are just memories forgotten"

Isn't that true? How many times have you looked back on a photo from years before & wondered what was going on?

What I like about Heritage Makers' books compared with the others I have tried:
- they focus on telling stories
- they have tons of scrapbook elements
- they have tons of ready-to-go (yet editable) scrapbook-y templates (so you don't have to spend forever to make it look cool if you don't want to!)
- you don't have to be scrapbook-y if you don't want to either- your books can be simple and classic, too!
- there is complete freedom as far as your layouts go- yay!!

Canvases

That picture is of the canvas I just posted about of ours, so it's not actually from Heritage Makers, but you can get wrapped canvases just like this one and in various sizes, from Heritage Makers- and the prices are excellent! I'm so excited about it & can't wait to choose something to have made into a canvas!

Jewellery!

I'm really excited about this, too! Heritage Makers has bracelets and necklaces with your own photos on them!

Playing Cards

These cards get me so excited because I've been wanting to design a deck of memory cards for a while now, that would be personalized with the pictures of my neices, nephews, and other relatives. We have a lot who live far away so it would be a fun way to remind my girls of their cousins, aunts, and uncles who are far away, and for them to feel less distant!
Also, these are totally customizable so they don't have to be used as a deck of cards- there are so many fun things you could use them for!

More Stuff, Too!

In the interest of keeping this post from taking over your life, I'll just make a list of some of the other cool products offered:

- personalized greeting cards
- postcards
- calendars
- posters
- spiral bound books
- board books
- and more!

Go, check out my Heritage Makers website now! It's awesome & you won't want to miss it!

New Series (Sharing Time)

I started the Raising Memories blog to share ideas and projects that I & my kids have tried. But there are so many great ideas out there & I/we can't try them all fast enough to share them all with you!

So I'm starting a Sunday Sharing Time on the blog & I hope you'll take the opportunity to add a link to your latest & greatest blog posts!

So be ready with one of your favourite projects to share on Sunday!

Be sure to check out the other links to find some great projects from other blogs, too!

(If you're confused about what this means, check back on Sunday & hopefully it will all become clearer ;)

200th Post (Favourites)

Well isn't this exciting- a blogging milestone!

I didn't notice that I was about to hit 200 posts in time to plan anything too fantastic, so for today's post, I'm just going to share with you some of my favourite posts on the blog, and some of the most popular posts since combining my two blogs into one.

So, in no particular order, here are 10 of our favourite posts:

1. Before & Afters with Photoshop (if you're interested in my offer from that post, I haven't chosen a picture yet, so feel free to send one in!) And here are a few more edits, in the post about some of Sierra's Photos.

2. Painting Popcorn to Eat!

3. Angel Hair for Kids (combined with the beginning of that story of how she cut her hair)

4. Jenn's guest post, An Organized Toy System

5. Fragrant Paper Hand Flowers in the snow! :)

6. Homemade Advent Calendar

7. Favourite Photos Contest

8. The Pink Load

9. My Maternity Photos

10. Stuffed Snowman

It's tempting to choose 20 posts... that's 1 in 10. But since I don't have the ability to see which posts are the most popular too far back in the blog (before the merge), and since I'm hesitant to bore you by making the list too long, we'll keep it at 10.

Besides if I did 20, then I might have to do 30 when the 300th post came along, and I don't think that would go over too well! ;)

-----------------

Thanks everyone for reading my blog. It's been a fun place for me to share my photography, keep motivated about doing fun things with my girls so that I can share ideas with others, and to write some of my thoughts about my life (and I hope to do more of this in the future).

Thanks also for the comments that some of you leave- it's nice to know someone's reading & it's fun to connect with you!

Welcome to the New Blog!

Welcome to the new blog!

Check out the links above and make yourself at home :)

Don't forget to add the new RSS to your feed reader (there are 3 to choose from, so click on subscribe up there, to choose).

You can still find the blog search box, blog archive, and labels at the bottom of the blog.

If you have any thoughts on the new blog, please do comment and let me know!

You know a post on a blog is not very fun without a photo, so I'm gonna share one of my favourites from our family photo session that I blogged about the other day.

Here I am with my girls:

Have a great day!

HLP Online

There are so many ways to communicate and share information online!

So far, you can find Heather Lynne Photography in the following places:

HLP website: http://heatherlynne.ca/

HLP blog: http://heatherlynnephoto.blogspot.com/

A Note: If you haven't already gotten an RSS Feed Reader, you should look into it! Especially if you're checking multiple blogs for updates! I currently use Google Reader and I really like it! It's kind of like checking email, but it checks for blog updates :) (That way you don't have to visit each blog individually to look for new blog entries- it's a definite time saver!) It's free and it's as easy to set yourself up with as signing up for an email address.

HLP Facebook Fanpage: http://www.facebook.com/HLPhoto

At this point, I haven't really gotten into Twitter- I already have enough things online to take up my time!

Are there any of you reading this who use Twitter? Do you love it? I'm curious to know what others think of it! If you've got a minute, leave a comment & let me know your thoughts on Twitter!
