By the reactions we were getting from the characters and Disney photographers there, this was a new idea that they hadn't seen before! Today I'm going to show you how to get your character meet & greet photos signed at Disney Parks!
Ken brought his tablet with him in our backpack (which has a special section for storing a tablet) and whenever we had the chance to meet a character, he would whip out his tablet to take the photo, then ask for a quick signature on the screen with his stylus, right on top of the photo we'd just taken!
Here's a photo of Rapunzel giving us her signature. She was pretty excited to see that we had a "magic mirror". :) I caught Katrina in the bottom of this photo, too. She had just finished getting Rapunzel's signature in her signature book and as you can see from her face, she's pretty thrilled about it! (You can see in the background that the photographer was so intrigued by what we were doing that he wanted to take a photo of it – and he wasn’t the only one who did that!)
Here's the photo we got of Mickey & Minnie with their signatures. I think they turned out so well and what a fun keepsake to have with their signatures right on the photo of them with our kids!
If you're going to try this, you'll want to be prepared by knowing how to take a quick photo with your tablet and then open it in a program that allows you to write with your stylus. These characters are in high demand, so there is usually a line of people just waiting to meet them and get their own photos, so it's nice if you can have things organized on your tablet, to avoid taking up a lot of extra time!
We first took the photo, then quickly opened it in a program called "SketchBook for Tablet" where they were able to sign it. We haven't seen a program yet that will let you take a picture and then edit it directly.
Here's a little collage of some of the photos we ended up with from our trip:
If you're headed to a Disney park, I hope you find this idea helpful! :) If you try it, I'd love for you to tag me on social media when you share your photo! (I'm @raisingmemories on twitter and instagram).
If you're not on your way to Disney just yet, but you know it's on your family's bucket list, then go ahead and pin this post for later! :)
This is sooooo brilliant! I love the way they turned out! I'm not super techy so I'd have to leave this one to my husband to figure out lol
ReplyDeleteThanks! :) haha Well, once he figured out the "plan of attack" it really wasn't hard to do. It's so fun to have the signatures right on the photos, so we can display them WITH a photo of our girls and the character- more chance of seeing those creative signatures when we look back on memories from our trip! :)
DeleteSketchbook for tablet sounds brilliant! When I went (back when I was 7 - 20 years ago) I had an autograph book but this is how we would do it. Thanks for the heads up!
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome :) I'm so glad he thought of it- it's so fun to have the photos with the signatures on them- and these characters have such cool signatures! :)
DeleteSo this is an incredibly helpful and fabulous post. Something new I haven't seen! Buffered for sharing next week!
ReplyDeleteThanks Terri! We were excited to come up with it! :)
DeleteWow, that's a fabulous idea!! I'm definitely doing this the next time we go to Disney.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nicole :) Hope you love it! :)
DeleteWell thats the greatest idea ever, you sure got some cool signatures!
ReplyDeleteI love how fun all of the characters' signatures are- they totally match their personalities! :)
DeleteWe go to Disney World almost every year. I have 5 teenagers and they all still love Disney especially my special needs son. He loves to see the characters and I always take him by myself because everyone else is riding rides etc. I try to take pictures and give Caleb his autograph book and pen. It is always crazy. This is brilliant!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the information.
Blessings,
Diane Roark
That is so cool- what a fun tradition to have! :) Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment, Diane :)
Deleteabsolutely amazing! Thanks for the post :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea!! I love it! It makes the photo more personal and takes no extra time at all!!! I can't wait to go to Disney world!
ReplyDeleteReally nice tips! Wish I read this couple years ago, we did not get many :-)
ReplyDeleteNow that is a super smart thing to do, and I can see that you'd have to be quick about it too. Love how it looks!
ReplyDeleteLove this!! The pictures and autographs look great!
ReplyDeleteSmart idea ! And thanks for saying you will want to be prepared. So true. If you wait in line and fumble with these gadgets as people are impatiently waiting behind you then that's really rude. Anyways this is a great way to do it. Pinning for later. Love GREEN ARMY MAN signature. That made me laugh.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely. My husband actually practiced going through the process before doing it the first time, so that we could be quick! :) I know, we loved the green army men! they were so funny! :)
DeleteThat is an amazing idea! We went to Disney years ago with the girls, and getting photos and autographs was one of the highlights of the trip. And those photos look great with the signatures!
ReplyDeleteJust love this! What a great tip. thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteThanks Maya :)
