As back-to-school time and Fall approached this year, I hopped on the Skechers website to see what they had available in my kids' sizes. I started with them because I knew they had Twinkle toes light-up shoes (which my kids think are awesome). I know they carry adult sizes and that Ken has loved his Skechers (which have lasted him years).
I didn't have to look far, to find what we were looking for! We found these awesome unicorn high top Twinkle-toes sneakers for Katrina. These are my favourites. Lucky for tweens and teens who love emojis and wear women's sizes, Skechers didn't stop at kids' sizes for all their fun styles!
I was so happy that Talia could find something awesome for her style, in her size. We found these women's emoji sneakers for her, and she couldn't be happier with them!
They're covered in fun emojis on both sides, and even the back! I might just take a turn with these fun shoes if Talia ever takes a break from them. ;)
Shoe shopping for our kids got more overwhelming when they started going to school because they needed everyday walking shoes as well as indoor gym shoes (and that's not even taking into account the footwear required for varying weather and seasons!). We want our kids to have good quality, supportive shoes that will last, and at the same time, we don't want to spend a fortune on shoes that they could quickly grow out of. It's a tricky balance.
For runners, we landed on Skechers' air cooled memory foam training sneakers. I love that they're supportive and comfortable for my kids while they're running around, being active, and each girl found colours they loved. Katrina's came with laces that are half pink, half turquoise (which she loves). They also came with an extra set of turquoise laces.
Talia's sneakers also had a lace option. They came laced with navy, and an extra set of pink laces (which Talia preferred, so we switched them).
Katrina's sneakers had the added bonus of gorgeous bottoms. She's pretty proud of her beautiful soles!
I was so happy to be able to solve our biggest shoe shopping struggles this Fall! Now I know where to look for women's shoes that work for my tween, and for quality shoes from kids sizes all the way up to men's styles. It's always exciting to find and share a good solution!
So, now I'm curious... What's your biggest shoe shopping challenge?
(for yourself, or for your kids)
Have you found a solution?

DeleteMy boys would love shoes like these. Such a great fashion item that is different than plain running shoes.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's fun to have something unique!
DeleteFor my kids, it is the laces vs Velcro issue. My kids are still having some trouble tying their shoes, so for some ease, we get them shoes with Velcro at school to wear. It is hard to find shoes in their size that offers this because their feet are bigger than the average child their age.
ReplyDeleteI know this problem! We're finally past this now, but I did notice that some of the shoes my 8 year old was looking at had velcro.
DeleteMy daughter would absolutely love the unicorn shoes. My kids actually need new inside runners and i never thought of sketchers, thanks!
