Album Review (Classic: The Rock Album) by Jenny Oaks Baker

I recently had the opportunity to listen to Jenny Oaks Baker's new CD, Classic: The Rock Album, from Shadow Mountain Records.

I love violin music and I love Jenny Oaks Baker's music! She is a Grammy-nominated #1 Billboard Violinist who I have had the pleasure of listening to in person at a Time Out For Women confernece. Her talent is amazing! Watching her play had me mesmerized!

This CD is kind of amazing. It's so neat to hear these rock songs played by a violin. It is beautiful! Baker has such talent, strength, and control of her instrument. I love the way the music can go from calm and flowing to strong, and loud. It feels like the music just sucks me in- I could close my eyes and sway as it calmly brings me along only to have my eyes pop open and heart start pumping as the music changes to something strong and controlling.

Here's a list of the songs on the CD:

Kashmir/Four Season (Led Zepplin/Vivaldi)
Everybody Hurts (REM)
Sweet Child of Mine (Guns and Roses)
Liverpool Suite
Pinball Wizard (The Who)
Imagine (John Lennon)
Stairway to Heaven (Led Zepplin)
Let it Be, Eleanor Rigby, Yesturday, All you Need is Love, Hey Jude (The Beatles)
Bridge Over Troubled Water (Simon and Garfundel)
Fields of Gold (Sting)
Clocks (Coldplay)

You can listen to parts of the songs here.
